Hi all,
I am asking this question on behalf of another genealogist.
This genealogist's wife is a descendant of a man named Joseph Michael Host, Sr., who, according to the archive at Walworth County, Wisconsin, USA in the Beckwith book page #1145 it is written; "Joseph Michael Host Sr. was a native of France, and a high officer in the army under Napoleon Bonaparte, and after the defeat at Waterloo he fled to Germany to save his life and there established his home."
Unfortunately this genealogist is o far unable to find any more information on this Joseph or his military career. He messaged me as I am the leader of the up-and-coming Waterloo Project, but I have little experience with French genealogy as of yet.
If anyone could provide any information, we would be grateful.
