I have a lot of family from Pittsburgh, so I am pretty familiar with records from Allegheny County.

Is this Alexander's 1897 death record?

Here is an 1874 death record for an infant who is the daughter of Alexander and Eliza Wilkinson:

Here is an 1872 birth record for Columbus Wilkinson, the son of Alexander and Eliza Wilkinson:

This 1880 census record shows Alexander and Eliza Wilkinson with a 7 year old son, Columbus:

If they were Catholic, you should definitely look into the church records at the Diocese of Pittsburgh.  Alexander's 1897 death would almost certainly be in there - along with baptisms and other funerals.  Depending on the priest who kept the church records at the particular parish, you could get a lot of specific information about parents and where exactly people and their parents were born:

Let me know if you have any questions.  I have been studying Pittsburgh/Allegheny County records for many years.

THe Alexander Wilkinson in this death record has different parents than the record I have. But I'll check it out.

I did not know about Alexander and Eliza's stillborn child. I added her.

I did have Columbus as a sibling to my great-grandfather, James Alexander, along with David, Robert, and Charles..

I doubt that this family was Catholic. James is buried in the Presbyterian Cemetery in Murrysville, PA.

Thanks!

Hi Jimmy,

Same here with family all over Western Pa.  While I don't have blood relative in my tree, I do have a Marion Lois Derby nee Wilkinson who is the wife of the brother in-law of 1st cousin 3x removed: Elva Steen.

Did a quick check of my Ancestry Tree as I do not have her family added to WikiTree and can't find a relationship so far with your Wilikinsons.  Though my Marion's family all seemed to reside around Homestead which is just a hop, skip and a jump from Wilikinsburg.

Just wish you had better sources than just Ancestry Com on their Profiles as it makes it a bit easier when researching.

Thanks for the input. I will work on adding the sources to the profiles.
