I agree with Billy's pain point, but not with his suggested solution.
There are a number of changes in the menu systems depending on whether you're in G2G or in other parts of WikiTree. The changes make no sense to me, and they may be artifacts of G2G being built in something other than Wikimedia, but here's what I've noticed:
- In most of WikiTree, clicking on the header of the "My WikiTree" menu takes me to my Navigation Home Page. Within G2G, all it does is add a "#" to the end of the URL of whatever page I'm on, and has no other visible effect.
- In most of WikiTree, there is a "Logout" choice at the bottom of the "My WikiTree" menu. Within G2G, it's not there. (This change is a particular nuisance to me, since I normally do one last check of my G2G feed before signing off, and then I have to click on the "My WikiTree" menu and select some choice within it [other than the menu header] to get a logout option.)
- In most of WikiTree, the "My WikiTree" menu has a "G2G Feed" choice, the menu with my WikiTree ID at the top has a "G2G Profile" choice, the "Add" menu has a "Followed Tags" choice, and the Help menu has a "Forum ("G2G")" choice, which takes me to the Recent Questions page. Within G2G, the "G2G Profile" choice moves to the "My WikiTree" menu, and the menu with my WikiTree ID at the top disappears entirely.
What I would suggest is making a new menu named something like "Forum ("G2G")" (I'd be inclined to put it between the "Find" menu and the "Help" menu, but I'm not married to that), and moving the "G2G Feed", "G2G Profile", and "Followed Tags" choices under that menu. (And leaving them there in both G2G and the rest of WikiTree.)
I'd also like to be able to click on the header of the "My WikiTree" menu to go to my Navigation Home Page, and have the "Logout" choice at the bottom of the "My WikiTree" menu, even within G2G, pretty please. (I'd like access to the menu with my WikiTree ID at the top from within G2G, but that's not as much of a personal frustration for me, so if there's some reason we can't have it, I promise not to sulk for more than a week. Maybe two at most.)
