I got to talk with AJ today on the phone, which was fantastic. First of all, he is so humbled that we have chosen to jump on board with helping to get as many cousins as possible to his family reunion next summer. He thinks, as do I, you all are fantastic :)
Like I have said many times before, but he reiterated today, the ultimate goal with this is showing the world that we do all, in fact, connect. That means, this project has a massive goal. There is no stopping on collateral lines. We just keep tracing, tracing, tracing (everytime I say that I hear Dory from Finding Nemo singing) until the reunion. If you get to a point where you can't trace anymore or you want to work on something else, just let us know by moving the profile where you stopped and a quick description of what needs to happen to the Needs Help section of the project page.
AJ hopes to jump in and start helping here in the future. He is thrilled we have taken on this project so personally and so appreciates the work that has happened so far, as well as that which will happen in the next year and half. I am sending him an email with links to the project page and the G2G tag links and such today and he will be linking to wikitree's main page as well as the project page on his website so traffic can direct here and hopefully some of these new cousins we are connecting for him can join the tree, as well as help us trace lines for the reunion.
You have all done a great job of communicating here-keep it up, let us know when you need help, or if you find something fun, or whatever may pertain. This is such an awesome opportunity!
And, if you haven't joined in on the Global Family Reunion Project, please shoot me a message or even comment here! The more we trace, the bigger this project will get, and we can use as much help as is available. If you have signed on already and haven't picked a place to work, let me know. I just added a lot of "young" cousins (born after 1920) that we can add families to, but I will need to add you to the trusted list until we know whether some are no longer living.
Keep it up!
