system won't let me add child without date

Quote from instruction on page: "The dates can be skipped if the person is still living."  Yes, I'm trying to add a living child.  I have marked the birth year as "blank for extra privacy" and now the system won't let me add the child.  It says "A birthdate is required".  So which is it?  Perhaps the instructions need to be changed?  I even went back, removed given name and put initial instead, but still won't accept without a date.  What to do??

I believe this was changed when the GDPR changes happened. You should still be able to add your own living children without dates, but not any other children. This is to prevent people from adding children under 13 to WikiTree.

Yes, this is my own living child, but system won't let me add.  I can leave child's profile, unaccepted, but I would suggest the Add Child instruction should be changed to remove the remark that a living child can be added without dates.
Hmmm. I'll have to check if not allowing someone to add their own child without a date was intended or just an oversight on our part. Either way, the instructions need to be updated so thank you for bringing this up :)

This applies to all profiles. There is another thread on this. I tried to add one that I only have a death date and it wouldn't let me save.
