Private Messages to Multiple Profile Managers?

When a profile has five or six managers, and you want to send some information or a question about the profile, it would be helpful to have a link that allows you to send one private message to all the managers of that profile.

If you're talking about the all the PMs on a given profile, you can already do that by posting a message on the profile. Each PM will be notified of the message.
No, I was talking about private messages, but that is one way of going about it if you don't mind it being public.
I'll post a comment, which is sent via e-mail to all profile managers, and then I'll delete it, which in essence makes it private since it was public for only a few seconds and WikiTree retains no records of information in comments.
Hi Liz,

Not sure why this nearly 3 1/2 year old post is suddenly getting new attention, but I had a thought about your comment, so...

The thing I wonder about is whether or not the full text of your public comment would be included in the email notification.  Obviously, none of us are monitoring our email 24/7, and your deletion would likely happen before many had a chance to see it.  If the full text is included in the notification, this would present little problem, of course.
Full text has always been included in copies I receive. The only times what I received & what's viewable on the page are different is when the comment has been edited since it was posted. Cheers, Liz

I have found sending a trusted request for any info that I don't want public does the job ... I include that as the reason I am sending it as 'request' - it does mean I have to then be added - and remove myself if I an not interested on tending that particular profile.

So. as you stated, it should be  just a matter of changing the wording in the trusted request, adding another box with  "contact all managers"

That works!  It also shows that the private message suggestion wouldn't be difficult to implement.  It's basically the same thing that the trusted list request already does.  There's just one problem - if I wanted to send a private message to all the managers of a profile, and I'm one of them, I'm out of luck, unless I take myself off first.
You're not out of luck ... you can still do it, but you'll be one of the recipients of the message you send - no big deal.

I don't know how hard that would be to set up but I like your idea.

Doesn't seem like it would be that tough.  Our Wikitree tech wizards can handle it! wink  On the other hand, I've heard something about a very long to-do list they're chipping away at, so this might take a while.

Thanks, Fred.

This would be feasible and it's been mentioned before.

The main hold-up is that we have to very careful about any system that sends e-mail and could potentially be abused by spammers. That doesn't mean we can't do it. It just means it has to be done carefully, and therefore, is more likely to get pushed lower on the to-do list.
