How to have last name spellings linked together as related surnames?

Hi there,

many surnames are linked to related spellings (e.g. https://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/SIMON to  SIMMONS, SIMONS, SEAMAN, SYMONDS etc.

How can this be achieved?

For example, I would like the following names to be linked, as they were used in different documents for the same family, often even for the same person:

  • Gerischer
  • Kerescher
  • Kerischer
  • Köröser
  • Keresher
  • Kerticsher
  • Geresch
  • Kereser
  • Kereses
  • Geresser

You could always create a one name studying. Choose the one that was used the most and then show the others in the profile as other spellings.

But won't that allow for only 3 different spellings of the name? The SIMON example shows many more links, so there must be some technical way to achieve this?
That particular page is not a one name study page. If you go to one of your ancestors with one of the spellings you mentioned above click the green link of the surname and it’ll bring you to that page.
So the spelling variants on the one name study page will show up on the surname overview page?
Go check out my Shockey one name study. I put the normal or most often used spellings for the three sections. But further down on the page I listed the different variants of spellings.
I'll have a look at it, thanks!

Other spellings used in a family should be included in Other Last Names on the profiles, separated by a comma.
