How can Maurice Garland born in 1748 be the son of Rice Garland born 1766?

Maurice Garland born in 1748 must be attached to the wrong father?  Rice Garland was born 18 years after him.

There were some changes recently (9/29) on these related profiles, but the sources are other trees rather than actual sources.

Obviously, whatever the trees say can't be right as the son cannot be 18 years olfder than his father.

I agree, I did not try to look at the father who was switched out.   I just meant it looked like changes were made without any reason........since there were no sources.

Obviously, Maurice Hamner Garland {Garland-1611] born about 1803 who was the son of Rice Garland was not a duplicate of Maurice Garland [Garland-915] born in 1748 who had been listed on wikitree as the son of Rice Garland.  Do you believe that the two Maurice Garlands were the same person?

according to my heritage.com, rice is a brother. this source shows james jonathan as the father and mary (rice) as the mother.
