Who it's the father of William Elliott 1769...Elliott-509

I am looking for the father of William Elliott born 1769 in Virginia. Elliott-509. The only birth record I've been able to find matches him to a captain George Elliott and a charity addidle but birth of 1764. Is there anyone with proof of William being born in 1769 ie birth records? Any help would be greatly appreciated.thank you

It looks as though his father is Archibald Elliott of Rockbridge, VA. His mother seems to be Sarah Clark. I hope this proves to be so.

I haven't been able to find a clear connection between the two but I believe he is part of the same lineage

Virginia Gazette 6 Sep 1974 had a clipping of "MARRIAGES OF SOME VIGINIA RESIDENTS"  1607-1800.

It lists, Elliott, Archibald m. 1748, Sarah Clark. Bath, p. 129.

I have the clipping in my Ancestry file if you want I can email it to you.  (don't know how to copy it here).
