How to get a gedcom file

I have an extensive family tree on Ancestor.com. I will be 80 this year and have spent years putting this together with notes, pictures and references. Now I am a widow and cannot afford to pay the fees to be on that site. I cannot even view the tree that I made without paying to see it. I think that the only way I can get a gedcom file is to be on the site. If anyone can help me with this I would sincerely appreciate it. My tree on Ancestor is "Davis-Stubenhofer family tree".

What's a persons name in your tree with a birth and death date? Just searching Davis-Stubenhofer doesn't seem to work.
Never mind I found it. Let me see if I can export it.
Sorry, I just started this tree and am doing it a little at a time. I have all of the dates on the other site Ancestors, and thought if I can get a gedcom I wouldn't have to look them all up again. I will do it as soon as I can. Thanks for asking.
I've tried to create a gedcom from your tree. It won't let me. I figured out how to do it with my own tree, but it doesn't work on other people's trees, which I guess makes some sense from a privacy point of view.
Thank you. I finally downloaded a gedcom. Now I can't open it because I do not have an ancestery program on my computer.
Carol, there are several programs you can download free. Try this one

Thank you! Anne, I down loaded it and now am starting to learn how to use it.

Go to your tree on Ancestry, select tree settings, then select export tree, this will create a GEDCOM file
