Can you help me connect the author of "Man in the High Tower"? (Philip K Dick)

I've been enjoying watching season 2 of "Man in the High Tower," which is based upon a novel of one of my favorite sci-fi authors, Philip K. Dick.

My husband Philip is descended on his maternal side from the surname Dick. (No wise cracks, please.) So I got curious to see if my Philip's Dick line connected with the line of Philip K Dick...

So I started to outline the author's ancestry, starting out with what wikipedia said about his family connections, then working my way back up through US Census records and making use of wikitree's RootsSearch tool.

It doesn't look like my Philip is related to author Philip-- my husband's Dick ancestry is Scotland-based; the author's appears to be Ireland-based.

But I'm having fun. Anyone want to help fleshing out and improving the sources of this branch? It's not yet connected to the larger tree.

You may be interested in whether there is a family connection to Tim Allen of the Tool Time TV show. He is one of five brothers. His full name is Timothy Allen Dick. From Wikipedia, his father's name was Gerald M. Dick (1923–1964), a real estate agent.

I"m thinking there are a lot of Dicks out there.

Okay, wise cracks allowed (offline, of course!)
Not a last name, but I know someone named Richard Glew.  NIckname DIck.  Now say it together!!!!
Speaking of Philip K. Dick (or trying to return to the original topic), is there a category for science fiction authors?
Never mind; found it. (Not Sci-Fi, per se but more generic than that)
I've got him several generations out-- the oldest ones still need better sourcing, but I ran out of time .Take a look:

Some Scots moved from Scotland to Ireland. My Bell line is an example. Oliver Cromwell rewarded soldiers land in northern Ireland.
Frank, not sure what you mean by Philip Dick had no children; per his wikipedia page, he had three.

His father was Joseph Edgar Dick-- who in this 1910 census you post, was enumerated as Edgar J. Dick.

And Philip K Dick had a twin sister who died at the age of 6 weeks. His ashes were buried with her.
Thanks for the correction on his three children.
