Confusion in the way very early English Publications like the various Visitations of English Heraldry are written. Some member of one family may turn up in the Visitation of 2 counties. An example is Ancell Carter
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Carter-212 Ancell Carter and his brother Thomas Carter are shown in the Visitation of the County of Bedfordshire for the year 1633. They are shown as sons of William Carter and his wife Mary Anscell. Thomas is shown with the number 1 and Ancell number 2. The Visitation is 1633 and there are 4 brothers between Thomas and Ansell and sisters also. But the key year is 1633 Thomas's line is "A" and Ancell's "B". Thomas's "A" heir and only son is shown with his own line and son Thomas at age 1 in 1634 but survey taken 1633 so born 1632.

Ancell "B" is shown with sons !,2,3 and 4, his daughter Jane as 1. Each sex starts in order and can be born between years of birth of siblings of either sex. For instance all children were born in London Middlesex County and baptizms in the registers of St, Dunstuns, Stepney, London as George in 1619, John in 1622, Ansell and Jane in 1629 and William in 1632.
A confusing aspect is Ansell is shown in the Vistation of London 1633.

This shows the order of male children 1,2,3, and 4 and females as 1 in the year of 1633 and male 3 and female 1 are twins. The confusion is Ancell himself has 6 sonne underneath his name. This does not mean he has 6 sons as there is no "s" it means he is the 6th son of his father
