Can you help some Unsourced Smiths?

Hi all,  I have been slogging along trying to add sources to the Unsourced Smith Profiles, but I need help.  The list of Unsourced Smiths is now at 11 and a half pages (roughly 2500 profiles) and growing.  Any assistance with these profiles would be most appreciated.  Just click this link: https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Category:Unsourced_Profiles&from=Smith-1 and choose any profile(s) on the next 11 pages to improve with sources.

If the profile is locked for edits, please post the source on the Public Bulletin Board/message board on the profile and ask that the source be added to the profile.  Ask also that the {{Unsourced}} notation be removed once the source is added.

If you need an idea how to find sources to add, please read this earlier G2G article. https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/307735/my-sourcing-safari-for-an-unsourced-profile?show=307735#q307735 Thank you for any assistance with this.

Have you had any luck approaching the Profile Managers of all of these Smith's?? Perhaps they would be able to fill in some blanks?
Not really, but then, I rarely ask.  Everyone knows they are supposed to add sources. It is in the Honor Code.
Hi Kitty,

Keep up the fight...you have a real challenge. I'm working on the Boughner's right now...many not even showing the "unsourced" designation (though unsourced). Love your comment "Everyone knows they are supposed to add sources". (So true)  I know Smith's don't compare to Boughners as a project. Keep your chin up.
Granted.

However, I see how I started out on WikiTree and if I knew then what I know now, my profiles would look a heck of a lot different.

When I found WikiTree, I was so eager to get started, make profiles, download GEDCOMs, acquire badges, etc, my contributions were truly quantity over quality. Now I have so many profiles it's difficult to sit down to the task of sourcing them all, even though I know I have to get them done. Never mind the fact that I am so easily distracted onto other side projects :)

I think it would not be terribly unreasonable to reach out to Profile Managers and seek their assistance.

It never hurts to ask!!
Please Christine...not disagreeing. Always worth a try. Communication is the commodity that is usually most lacking.

Just taken a look as I have Smiths in my tree. None matching my lot but saw a couple of Leicestershire ones so I'm sourcing those, then I'll take a peep to see if there are any others I can source. The first one I did was a 1738 birth, found a christening source in 2 seconds flat that named the parents and place of christening, so that was a pleasure compared to normal 18th C profiles, let alone being Smiths lol

Well the second one had green privacy so I left a little message:

"Please can you add some primary sources (it's a requirement of the Honour Code you agreed when you signed up) or alternatively, open the profile so other Wikitreers can? Here's one to get you started :) ........

<familysearch.org citation for England and Wales Census, 1901>

Happy Wikitreeing, Gillian"

Is that friendly enough? I wanted to remind them of the code without seeming officious but not sure if the tone is right.
This is great, Gillian!  Thank you so much for your help!

Happy to help.  I worked on the family of Daniel Turner Smith of Edgar, IL and Allen, KS and also on a few of his siblings for a couple hours last night and this morning.

Little drops of water, little grains of sand......I revisited my Smiths and managed to remove the one I had, with newer information now on line.
Not a big help but everyone counts to decrease the pile.
