According to the matches of another site there is evidence that the father and mother of Samuel Sr is a Alexander and Jean Buchanan, which is how he made the crossing in 1702 from Coleraine Ireland ( https://www.geni.com/people/Samuel-Buchanan-Sr/6000000028321038577#/tab/dna ).

I wonder what the evidence is.  I didn't see any actual documentary sources on the Geni.com profile.  I'm not in anyway saying that Alexander & Jean aren't Samuel's parents, I just always want more proof.  It looks like there are two profiles for Samuel married to Martha Keys Buchanan.  The other is Samuel Buchanan-1282.  I would try to get proof of where Samuel was born and his marriage to Martha Keys before I would try to link another generation. Maybe the managers of those profiles have information that is not entered into WikiTree yet.

According to Early Southwest Virginia families, Samuel was probably the son on  William Buchanan who came from Ulster Ireland and setting in Chester County PA in 1702. Samuel moved on to Augusta County VA by 1746 when he shows up in various church documents there.
