Why does my uploaded photo not display properly?

Finally, I've uploaded a scanned photo of my ancestor.  But it does not display the "head shot" of Henry B. Gould -- just a white square with an "A". I must have skipped a step!

Please advise,  Janine

I checked and your latest changes stated that Janine Barber uploaded Gould-2735.pdf for Henry Gould.

It appears you downloaded a pdf file which would cause the problem. 

 A "jpeg" would be the best for photos. 

PS: All your other photos had .jpg at the end .
