I am Jon Stephen Gould living in Naperville, IL. I have traced my Gould family back to the Quaker migration in the 1650s. They originally landed in Boston but were persecuted by the Puritans and found refuge in Rhode Island, where they settled for several generations. I have found that my 8th GG was Daniel Gould who was one of the Quaker Martyrs, 4 who were hung. Daniel Gould was tied to a gun carriage on Boston Common and lashed. He recovered and later wrote in 1670 " A Brief Narration of the Sufferings of the People Called Quakers...".
