James Aston, Sr. Married Mary McDowell who is said to have come from Ireland.  James Aston, Sr. Father Alexander Aston and his wife Isabella are said to have come from Ireland.  A history book compiled of Chickasaw County, Mississippi states that some Astons left England to escape the official Church of England.  They were Protestants so they were not well received in Ireland either.  They immigrated from Ireland to the United States landing in the Virginia and North Carolina are.  From there they expanded primarily into Pennsylvania, South Carolina,,Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Texas.  Why Pennsylvania was included is a mystery, and I have questions about Virginia.  There are several branches of Astons that have not been connected yet, but it's just a matter of time.  The brick wall is between Ireland and or England, and the US.
