I have discovered a significant error in pre-1700 lineage. How do I correct the error?
Our documented and DNA research discovered the following:
In his 1902 publication The Descendents of John Stubbs of Cappahosic, Gloucester County, Virginia, 1652, author William Carter Stubbs stated his belief that our North Carolina Stubbs family descended from a Richard Stubbs who had left Gloucester County, Virginia around 1705 and whose descendants spread over many southern states.
In 2006 Irving Randolph Stubbs and a distant cousin, Joseph Truman Stubbs, began participating in a Stubbs DNA project sponsored by Family Tree DNA. Through the DNA testing, we have learned that we are not closely related to the Gloucester County, Virginia Stubbs family as we thought. Instead, we have close links to a Stubbs family from Chesire, England. We are now seeking our roots in Chesire, England.
