Connection to existing profile vs creation of a new profile.

Question

I just adopted Peacock-171  and Adrews1419 .   I adopted Peacock-171 because Hunnicutt-143 three was married to a William Peacock my source says was born in 1642.  I searched before a created a William Peacock for her and found this profile on wikitree. He is attached to Andrews-1419 as a spouse. As I researched her I found several references to Katherine Kindred and Katherine Andrews as being the same person.  Katherine Hunnicutt had two other husbands. One of whom was John Kindred.  Another Samuel Cornwell the last was William Peacock. At first thought I thought Katherine Andrews would be a first wife to William as I can't find Katherine Hunnicutt to have married an Andrews. She did outlive William Peacock , so she could have married again and I just can't find it.  But I can't find any mention of William being married to Andrews without the name Kindred being attached.  I will not attach Peacock-171 to Hunnicutt-143 until I can prove that Peacock-171 was indeed her husband.  Katherine Hunnicutt is a possible ancestor of President Jimmy Carter and I would like to get some of this line cleaned up and sourced. Can some one help me figure out my dilemma.  I think this William Peacock is the one I want. But to attach him could cause real wonkyness if I'm wrong.  Thanks

I remember President Jimmy Carter saying he took up genealogy after his presidency as a hobby and found that one of his ancestors was accused of murder and maybe a horse thief.  I remember him saying how shocked he was at finding that out.  It's probably mentioned in one of the many books written by President Carter.

Ok.  So there are sources that state Katherine Andrews was married to William Peacock and John Kindred . And sources that state Katherine Hunnicutt Kindred was also married to both men ,  and it appears they are not the same woman. So since William is the correct guy I'm looking for Hunnicutt-143 do I attach him to her as spouse and work out the other wife issue as I go. Or just document on all three profiles and leave it alone?

Jimmy and I may share a grand da or two . I would not be surprized to have horse thives in the family. I enjoy a good horse and once stole one myself.  I ended up paying $ 250. 00 for her poor starving abused self.
