Direction of tree has changed

Question

For some reason, my tree has changed direction and I am not connected to the same people I was connected to.  I started to try to change it back, but decided I had better not do this before I contacted someone.  Thank you.

Hi Linda - Just took a look at your tree and from what I can see, everything appears to be heading in the right direction. Can you give a couple of examples of specific people who are in the wrong spot? Maybe that will help narrow things down.

Hi Scott! Thanks for your response.

I did change Pierre from Palatte (or something like that) to dit de la Cote before I decided I should contact someone. It had a message that it was locked in. I didn't look further to see what siblings he is connected to but his father is Alexis in my tree. Tree goes like this:

Robert, Thomas, Alexis (abt 1672) married Marie/Mary LeBlanc; Pierre dit de la Cote (1703) married Marguerite Cyr; Jean Baptiste dit Thibier/Tibier (1732)  married Angelica Ducharme; Jean Baptiste (1785) Married Marie Lacourse; Moise (1827) married Louise Bellefeuille; Joseph (1861) married Melanie Dureault/Dureau
