Born 1775 Saratoga NY, died 1873 Schenectady NY, m. James Clement, named her son John DeGroff Clement, according to other family trees had brothers John and Abraham DeGroff but I cannot find sources for these relationships.  Anyone have information on this family to share?

DeGroff is likely an anglicization of a name like De Graaf. (I recognize this as the name of some of my upstate New York ancestors, but I'm not aware of any in Saratoga County.) Search utilities often fail to make the connections to spelling variations like this one, so you should search on possible spelling variations like De Graaff, De Graeff, DeGraff, etc. Pearson's First Settlers of Schenectady has genealogy for De Graafs in Schenectady -- see http://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=wu.89067339887;view=1up;seq=66;size=125 . Also, while I don't completely trust the Moses Degraff genealogy that's been loaded into WikiTree from online family trees, you might find some useful clues by looking into the families of the children linked to http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Degraff-8  (Note: Moses De Graaf and the Schenectady De Graafs are different families.)

I suggest that you delve into the sources for Jane's biography  to determine exactly where each bit of information comes from (and revise the profile citations to indicate the specific sources). You may find inconsistencies in the different sources that will provide useful clues. I note that the Find-A-Grave webpage states that her place of birth is based on the 1855 New York State Census (that's a link to the Ancestry.com record, since I'm guessing you are an Ancestry subscriber), which isn't cited in the profile. That same census record shows that she had lived in Duanesburg for 50 years as of 1855. It appears to me that her 1775 birthdate is an estimate based on ages reported in various documents, so you need to look at other possible birth years.

You also should consider that her baptized name probably wasn't Jane, but is more likely to have been Jannetje (or a variant thereof).
Caryl, if you ever check back in to WikiTree, send me a message.  I've been researching my DeGraafs and they come from Saratoga and moved west to Iowa along with the Cannon and Clements families.  So I'm assuming the Clements came from Saratoga also.

Working the Connect-a-Thon this weekend and while working some of my DeGraf/Degroff ancestors I came across a Clement connection - some of the folks in this family group came from NY.
