The amazing thing about WikiTree

I was looking for sources on my great grand mum. Doug Lockwood provided me with a census source. I read the source and noticed that an Archibald Peacock was 27 years old was living in the Home with my gram in 1900 . Now my brain is totally incapable of figuring out how to add sources and biographies. But it is a steel trap for names and connections.  I say Archibald Peacock !  He has a profile on wikitree ! He sure does. 1762 is when he was born. My new mystery is ... no family attached to Archie of the 1700s so are the Archies related.  Was Archie in the Home of gram cause he's related to us. You know how the questions start to roll. The thing is I may never connect all the connections but I have a whole file listing them. This has been a good week. I have to contact a wiki cousin about one of her profiles to do a merge to connect the Hunnicutts to the Sheppards I found the sources to do the connection that was only a hint I've followed for years. Like I said amazing.  Have fun , HAPPY hunting.

What a great name... Are you looking at the 1900 home of William and Isabella Grant in No. Braddock, Allegheny, PA? If so, I notice that Wm and Isabella, as well as Archibald (pipe fitter), are from Scotland. Archibald emigrated in 1895.

There is an Archibald Rolland Peacock, plumber, who applies for naturalization in 1910, with wife Mary; says he arr NYC 1 Aug 1895 on the Furnessia (and there is such a passenger list so naming him). Not sure if the's the same guy, although it's tempting... pipe fitter? plumber?
Jilliane , yes I think that could be him. Both the family on my mum's side worked construction. Alot of the gargoyles on buildings in Pittsburgh were worked on stone masons in my family. They were also Free Masons. There were steel mill workers. So pipe fitting makes a good fit for the 1900 Archie. My Grandfather Thomas Daw was a contractor . After he retired he had a hardware store in Wilkinsburg called Tim's . My grand mum Isabel Donaldson Daw sold antiques. So Archie could be family. Well I can start at the passenger list maybe he came over with the Grants. If not its another Archie to connect to the other two. So thank you.

Dear Trudy,

I am not sure if you know, but each record on FamilySeach.org has a copy and paste citation for your Sources section.  Take a look at the census data on this profile for several examples of the copy and paste cites.  http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Newberry-745

Inserting these citations in the Sources section for each profile is an easy way to start adding sources to the profiles. And they include an embedded link to the actual FamilySearch record!
