Changing Unknown ID to a name

Question

I have a cousin and we share ancestors her grandmother is listed as Margaret Unknown Smith with the Unknown ID#

I found the source and her grandmothers last name.  I cleared it with her to change it.  Can I just change her last name and it will keep the same #?  What should I do?

Yes. You will need to be the profile manager or on the trusted list.
