Link error various Help → 302 Found (Previously Moved temporarily)

Question

I keep seeing this error in regards to PRDH links that have already been converted to templates.  There's absolutely nothing wrong with the link, leads to the cited reference without any problem.  I mark them as false error, but it's rather annoying to see this repeatedly.  Any explanations / fixes for this please?

Can you give some profile IDs?  It is hard to give an explanation without specific profiles to look at.

I looked at your suggestions and found some Error 897 Error in template parameters.

The Help Page for PRDH Template parameters has the Values for the 1st parameter.  You have Couple, Baptism, Census.  None of those are valid values for the Type field, so that is why you are getting suggestions.  The Info column states what parameter is the problem and it says the 1st Type field is incorrect.

With the 966 Suggestions for Link Error various, if you have converted them to PRDH template and you left the original link in the profile, also, then you will continue to get the suggestion until the link is removed because the link is giving an error when access is attempted.

the template conversion was set up by Ales so it brings in the correct link, as the old one was replaced some years ago.  And none of the items you mention are what I am speaking of, I get this 302 message on items like Pioneer, which is one of the templates he set up for us.

As I said before, if you don't give us a profile to look at, it is hard to 'guess' what the problem is.  The template will create the correct link to be used when the template is selected, but an old link still shouldn't be in the profile if the template is now in the profile and that is what it sounds like is happening.

If you are saying that you are getting an Error 302, that is not a defined Error / Warning / Suggestion in the DD System.

302 is an HTTP status code, not a DBE suggestion number. See

It is a temporary redirection. WikiTree Plus should be following it to the next link, not flagging it.

Hard to remember where i was, but i believe it was this one.  He's not the only one I have seen this 302 on, with same link type of Pionnier.

In Danielle's example, the template {{PRDH|Pionnier|65752}} gives the link

That is redirected by the prdh-igd server's initial HTTP 302 response to the same URL location

https://www.prdh-igd.com/en/Pionnier/65752

but with an ASP.NET_SessionId cookie added (among others). This seems quite successful and normal, and there is no need or reason for a DBE 966 suggestion to be generated. Instead, WikiTree Plus should follow the redirection applying the cookies, and it will then see a final 200 HTTP success status code indicating that all is well.

I did review the link validation with 3xx (redirect) errors. PRDH domain has problems only on /en/ path. After some changes in 300 error handling I reduced the number of 3xx errors by half. That should provide a suggestion reduction of several thousands.

thank you Ales, I am continuing to convert the old URLs to template as I find them.  So that is also reducing gradually.
