I want to share this photo of Zenas Thompson with the community. Date: 1861-1862. Though this is not one of my direct ancestors, I found this photo in the U.S. Library of Congress photo collection. They have thousands of wonderful photos available for download without restriction.

The 6th Maine was at the Battle of Gettysburg however I believe Rev. Thompson had resigned just prior

Updated and added sources to his profile including obit links his civilwardata link and civil war sticker plus categorizing. He appears to have served a full year as Chaplain of the 6th Maine Regt.

The son jr was a carriage maker it appears see The Portland Daily Press, September 20, 1882, Page  3. 

Also his son advertising his business The Portland Daily Press, December 31, 1879, Page  2.
