Is there a project that covers these pre-1700 people?

I am interested in adding information to several biographies and am confused about needing to check with or join pre-1700 projects in order to do this.

For example, I want to enhance the biography of Taylor-6436 and have been in contact with the profile owner to check-in and make sure it's okay (which she says it is). I need to finish the self-certification in order to do this. In there it asks if a WikiTree project covers this person. Well, there's nothing on the profile that indicates one does. But, given the person lived mostly in VA I suppose it's possible I'm supposed to contact the VA project or the southern colonies project. But, I don't want to join the project, I just want to contribute a biography that cites full sources so that others will know what original document exists for this person. Do I just pick one of the coordinator names and message them? And would I have to do this for every person I want to add biography/sources for if they were born before 1700?

The explanations are a bit confusing to a newbie to WikiTree and I'd appreciate any clarifications. Thank you!!

Thanks for wanting to improve the profile. The most important thing is to make sure you use reliable sources, and cite them clearly. You not have to join a Project, but you do need to take account of project guidance on reliable sourcing, as well as the general WikiTree guidance here . For the southern colonies of North America, there is a reliable sources guidance page here and there is also one here for what is now the United States as a whole.
