“The Daily Plunge At Wopowog”

Hi Wikitreers,

I have a vintage antique post card in my collection I wish to find the genealogy behind the postcard. This one in particular is sent to a “Lola Beach” and she is residing at 2309 South boulevard, Bronx, New York.

The post date stamped is August 11th however the last digit of the year is not legible so it’s between 1910-1919.

1.) Who was the sender?

2.) Post card bio needs transcription

3.) Is Lola Beach in the 1900/1910 or 1920 census for the Bronx?

4.) Is Lola Beach a “Miss” or “Mrs”

Any collaboration is appreciated

Thank you

My best transcription of the postcard is:

[left-hand side]

Dear Lola,

Am having an awfully good time
Write more later on darling

Love

Auntie Olga (?)
c/o ___  ____way   E Hampton Conn

[right-hand side]

Mrs. Lola Beach
2039 S Boulevard
Bronx
NY

The front of the postcard obviously shows a romp in Lake Pocotopaug.  To fill in the two words in the return c/o (care of) address, I suggest you contact the Chatham Historical Society.  Someone there would probably be able to make a good educated guess as to the text I was unsure of.
