CC7 Views changed?

Question

For checking missing parents or siblings I use the actual CC7 View for usually up to 5 degrees. Since about 24 hours the selection doesn't include all, but only a very small selection of profiles. For degree 1: 6 selected but 8 profiles on my connections list, for degree 2:  11 selected, but 24 on my connections list. I have selected 'all'. So I end up with degrees 5  with 342 selected and 797 in my connections list

Are you using the production app from Tree Apps on a profile?  If so, please see here.  

[TLDR: it has been broken for a while by changes at WikiTree. Please use https://apps.wikitree.com/apps/smit641/cc7/#view=cc7 until WikiTree has accepted my updated version (and please let me know if you still find issues).]

Yes I am using the production app from Tree Apps on a profile. I tried it by using the link you gave, but the result is even worse, the 5 degrees count went down from 342 to 311.

Yes, the CC7 Views Tree App accessed via the Tree Apps tab. But this is something new.

A profile that only yesterday showed a total CC7 of 5000+ as of this morning lands on 516.

Yes, see Jamie's answer below. You will see less profiles, but the production version is definitely worse at the moment - it can stop displaying non-private profiles once it finds one private profile. It all just depends on when that private profile shows up.

For example. Klaas, for your profile's CC5 in production, no CC5 profiles are shown (when I load it), but in the new version they are shown, although less than there might have been last week because not all private profiles are being shown (depending on their privacy level).

Interesting.

When I go to get CC4 for Larsdotter-1579
I get 19, 78, 311 and 712 in degrees 1, 2, 3 and 4
- no private profiles within this range, so those are the true numbers.

When I go to get her CC5 there must be one or more private profiles in degree 5 which breaks paths.
I get 19, 39, 45, 149 and 261 in degrees 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
so there are actually fewer profiles in every degree but the first.

Thank you for the reply. I know what the issue is. Unfortunately it is something the WT people need to correct. They are busy working on it.

We had to make some changes to the API for privacy reasons. Unfortunately, this means that you probably won't be able to see as many profiles as before.
