My distance to QEII jumped from 24 to 23 on the 14th of November 2023 and from 23 to 22 on the 19th of December. Is their a way to find out what has been changed?

Kevin is stable on level 25 (whois Kevin?)

Klaas, I think the more important thing to know is why Kevin Bacon! If you aren't an American or GenX or younger (or maybe both), it might be a cultural reference that flies right over one's head.

"Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" is a game to find the connection between any actor or actress and Kevin Bacon in six steps. Other versions might be to find the connection between Kevin Bacon and anyone, not just actors.

It took it's name and number from the play and film that came out in the early 1990s, Six Degrees of Separation, which suggested that we are all connected within six degrees.

In Six Degrees, acquaintances count, unlike WikiTree's connection where there needs to be some kind of familial tie. But the basic idea is the same.

Thank you for the additional information. My question was just a bit ironical, because as an 'old European' never heard about him, the play and film. So I do understand now the reason to choose KB,

Same here, Klaas. Also an old European, I went through the same interrogations about KB (Who? Why?) and same discoveries. With my maths background, I was more familiar with the Erdős number. wink

For the historical record, it seems that Erdős number predates Kevin Bacon's Six Degrees by many years, since the original article "And What Is Your Erdős Number?" was published in 1969, when Kevin was 11 ...

And BTW, Paul Erdős has a profile, with only 4 connections, his parents and two siblings. He deserves better than that!

Very interesting Bernard. This makes a kind of a mathematical game with (for the Bacon number) a genealogical approach although both numbers Erdös and Bacon had no genealogical impact. But finding more connections for Erdös is for me too hard - my Hungarian knowledge is very small: Gulasch is the first word I can connect.

smiley Same here. But it's quite ironical to have the reference point of connection among mathematicians so lonely here on WT.

There is a CC7 Changes feature in the WikiTree Browser extension.

You have to enable it before it starts tracking changes though.

As far as I know it just shows a list of profiles added to your CC7 recently - it doesn't tell you how your connection to QEII changed.

Thank you for your answer, but I am interested about the lines of relationship through marriage with QEII. The count changed from 24 to 23 and a bit later to 22. I would like  to see the 3 different lines of relationship. The actual is clear visible, but how was this line before 19 Dec 2023 and before 14 Nov 2023?

One way to determine this is to click on each of the profiles in your connection to QEII. Look at the creation date of each profile. If any of them are after the date when your QeII distance changed then click on the little X at the top right of the connection box and that will show you the connection before that profile was created. Many of the profiles in this connection were created in Oct 2023, I haven't looked at all of them.

Yess!! Thank you, I found the different connection paths the way you described. My aunt and her ancestors shortend the distance from 24 to 22 steps.
