Is this a good source to be able to add Joseph Laybourne as a son to William Laybourne?

I want to finally be done with this line, as it will help open up a lot of possibilities!

Hi Zacchary. A file:// link is on your own computer, not visible to the rest of us. Provided there are no copyright restrictions, you can upload the PDF to the profile in the same way as an image if you wish (though an image might be better). See

Is this better?
I believe I fixed it now!

Thanks to Jim for his great recommendation to upload the image, I would certainly use a document like that to link the two. Then create a source entry linking to that document and use it in supporting the first entry of William being his father and then for your marriage entry.

Before you attach that, have you ascertained that the Joseph you're working on is the same Joseph mentioned in the record? Have you analyzed the record and the information contained within it according to the Genealogical Proof Standard? Is there a better copy of the document available (a physical book) or an original record that may contain more information?

Just a few things to keep in mind. :)

Thanks for the info!  I am very certain that Joseph Laybourne does have a father name William Laybourne.  I just need help finding proof of William Laybourne having a son named Joseph Laybourne.  I still need to use the genealogical proof standard.  This document is directly from the church on a website.  The website and the document do contain more information!

I’m confident in these findings and results.  The only thing I want to clarify is if William Laybourne definitely had a son named Joseph Laybourne.
Sorry Zacchary, but according to the sources on William's profile he died s.p. which means sine prole, or died without issue or children.

Joseph Laybourne can not be the child of this particular William Laybourne and needs to be detached.
How should I go about finding the correct father for Joseph Laubourne?

Sorry Zacchary, my mistake there are actually 2 William Laybourne in this family, half-brothers, and it is the elder brother who died without issue.  However the younger one, all the sources state is his name, nothing else, so I still think that there is no proof other than the same name, that he is the father of Joseph Laybourne.

The other issue is that there appears to be no such place as Black Hadley or Black Hadleigh in County Durham.  There is a village named Hedley Hill in Durham and I also know there is a village named Black Heddon in Northumberland, which is the county adjacent to Durham. Trying to find out where Joseph was actually born might be a good next step.  Finding quaker records from England might also give more information.
