Regarding William Pearson-16613

I have good info and sources for his Father being a Robert Pearson-16622

I have conflicting information on whether I have the correct Robert Pearson. For example sources stating different wives i.e Eloisa B.1816, Hannah Barnes B.1811, Margret or Margaret Sarah Kirkby 1812-1888/95, Mary Scott B.1819-1893.

Was he married four times or do I have four different Robert Pearson's info with same birth year of 1813?? Any source assistance to match him as William's father, or Roberts father and mother - births, marriages, deaths, siblings, children ect very much appreciated as im stuck on this.

Narrowed this down to wives either Hannah Barnes B.1811 or Eloisa B.1816. Now to confirm children, father and mother.

Hi Mark,

First a couple of tips for posting to the forum. One put the profile ID in the field used for this purpose (rather than your own). It helps members get to the profile easier. Second, tags should be separate. Only use the underscore for tags with two or more words ie United_Kingdom. This is important so that you get the attention of members with experience in these areas. Be sure to add England as a tag too.

For your profile, try the Gro index for birth and death info. Try Freereg and FreeCen, too. And fill in details or where you have searched and what you've found. If you are not sure, put these into the Research notes section.

Good luck with your research!

I also recommend taking the Orphan Trail. Its a self-directed course that will teach you how to research and develop English profiles. Find out more on the England project's page. This can be found on the project list, found under the Find drop down menu.
The GRO birth registrations did not begin until 1837.
Have since edited, also searching elsewhere, thanks. Familysearch is able to provide sources automatically so cross referencing there also.
Im actually wondering if there is a missing Pearson between Robert and William?????

From the 1901 census, his son William was born in Sunderland, not Kendal. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XSCH-7FF

I would suggest adding all the sources to your more recent ancestors, including William. Eventually, this should enable you to work out who was William’s mother, and in turn will help identify which Robert is the one you are looking for. It’s a very common name, there are probably hundreds of possibilities.

I just had a quick look too and agree William seems to be born in County Durham in the Sunderland Registration District. I've added a couple of sources to William, Catherine and Thomas for you that back this up.
Thanks for the help, have edited a little and cross checking with Familysearch. Will then use GRO, Freereg, Freecen ect.

The image for the 1841 census in your sources shows William 2 years old, not 0 - perhaps twin with Robert? Father Robert is a manufacturer and there is a possible marriage 25 December 1837 at Manchester Collegiate church, now cathedral , Robert Pearson manufacturer of Hoghton, Lancashire, father Robert Pearson, farmer, Eloise Mercy Williams of Ardwick, father William Williams, bookseller. Pearson is a very common surname and the GRO has 134 William Pearsons registered 1838 - 1840 so I would look further down the tree as someone has suggested and find all the information you can about William and Robert junior.

On Familysearch I can only find Eloisa Mercy Williams that has married a Robert Pearson with his B.1813. I might reverse my searching into the possible spouses names Hannah, Mary, Margret to see if they have married a Robert Pearson. I will then go looking into GRO, Freereg, Freecen. Exciting but so time consuming!
