I am very excited that a couple of years of research has finally culminated in this amazing article about the research done by USBH Project and the Civil War reenactment photos by Drew Gardner. This was an amazing collaboration between him and USBH. And best of all, all of the research we did is on the WikiTree profiles for descendants to find. I'm very pleased that USBH was given credit in the article.

A huge shout out to Elaine Martzen and Katie Bryant who put countless hours into the work along with Lisa Christensen, Amy Johnson Crow, Dreama Brower, Bart McRorie, Karen Stewart, and everyone else who helped when they could. It was a true team effort. I'm very proud to be a part of this amazing project and pleased the article showcased the reason we do what we do at USBH--to bring honor and respect to ancestors who have gone unsung for far too long.
This was a brilliant collaboration and the article speaks to that! I am so proud of our WikiTree community and being a member of this amazing project!
Congratulations to you, the Project, and the team members who spent time working on the profiles! Many, Many hours, days, and weeks have made the USBH Project meaningfull.
My most sincere congratulations to all involved in this outstanding USBH project and the story. I donate to the Smithsonian and receive their magazine. I will look forward to the January 2024 issue. All involved should be very proud of this work and supporting our African Americans who served during the Civil War. And thank you for shining an inclusive light on the work that WikiTree does. Well done all of you (including all the folks involved in this issue).
Congratulations to all involved in the endeavour. WikiTree becoming more than an idea, becoming a movement !
