If someone is on my Watchlist, does that mean that I am listed as a Profile Manager?

I am looking to find a list of the Profiles that I am shown as a Manager of, or listed as one of the Approved List for making updates to. When I look at some of the Profiles on my Watchlist, there is no Profile Manager listed.  Is this common and why would they be on my Watchlist?

Hi Tammie. You have a watchlist, and each profile has a Trusted List. The profiles on your watchlist are exactly those profiles whose Trusted List you belong to.

Being profile manager is a step above being on the Trusted List of the profile, with slightly more power over it. Every manager of a profile is on that profile's Trusted List, but the reverse is not always true.

In the display of your watchlist is a column called Status/ID. The profiles of which you are manager show an M symbol in that column.

I hope this helps with your question. Let us know if you need more information

Hi Jim, having read the other thread about 400 pages of unanswered questions, as a regular responder, would it be best for you to convert this to an answer?

Otherwise this just makes the problem worse and the list of 400 pages longer for Oliver to work through wink   Especially as it is definitely an answer, not a comment.

best wishes D

Hi D. It's not a complete answer, nor did it involve significant work. At least one of those is my criterion for posting an answer :-) Here I've just given some partial points to carry discussion forward. Tammie's specific questions "is this common?" and "why?" remain open for someone else to address.

They are on your Watchlist because you are on the Trusted List of that profile.  If you are the manager, it has an 'M' next to it.

It is perfectly common - in fact, it's the way the system works.

What I have found is that if there was/is no Manager and I do any work to it (the profile), then I am added to the Trusted List and that Profile is now on my Watchlist.
Sorry Tammy, but this I do not think this is correct. Editing an unmanaged profile does not add it to your watchlist if it was not there already. Many people's watchlists would be bulging if it did!

If you observe something like this apparently happening again, it would be great if you can please post full details so it can be investigated.
I'm reasonably sure I had that happen today maybe not today.

I was working on short biography suggestions for profiles I manage and I think there was at least 2 that were orphans which made me wonder why they were on my suggestion list.

I'll go back and make sure and report back.

Reporting back, I'm wrong! The 2 profiles were orphaned profiles for husbands of 2 wives whose profiles I do manage.
