I have tried several times to set the second image as primary on Krins-38 It never seems to work.

I uploaded an image of Martha and her husband and then decided I would like just Martha.  It seems impossible to set the second image as the primary or delete the first.  Krins-38

It looks like you've figured it out? There's only one image on that profile, a portrait of her set as her primary image.

The key is to click the "Set Primary" button after checking the profile's checkbox in the image editor, don't click the "Save Changes to Image Details" button, which won't update the primary photo.
