Need genealogical help researching this couple.

Question

There seem to be few sources for the couple, Robert Beaty/Beaty-898 and Catherine Crawford, although it's well known that they came from Ireland and settled in the Halton Refion, Ontario, Canada in about 1818.

They were the direct ancestors of many prominent Beaty family members including, Beaty-896, Beaty-897 and Beaty-794, The 22nd Mayor of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  

Please help with sources/resources for this couple.  Thank you.

I added a few Upper Canada land petitions for their children. I'm not really finding any evidence that Robert and Catherine came to Canada with their children. Can you provide any more info on why you know they came to Halton?

My understanding is that Robert Beaty and Catherine didn't come to Canada.  Their children, however, trickled into Canada over abt. 20 years starting in abt. 1818.  They had a farm called Ashdale Farm in Trafalgar, Halton County, Upper Canada.  I have been able to scotch together profiles for all the siblings that came to Canada.  I think that what we know about Robert and Catherine Beaty is based on storied passed down from their descendants. I would like to find a link to the newspaper/resource, The Leader, which one of the Beaty brothers was the proprietor of and is mentioned at this site but have been unable to find.  Also, the brothers also worked at Beaty's Leather Shop in Toronto.  An address is given in Toronto for the shop. One of the extended family, Jacob Crull was a leather manufacturer. Jacob was married to Beaty-1521 - Rebecca Beaty.
