How do I correct inaccurate information about my grandmother that is on this site?

I received an email about my grandmother’s birthday. It was for  Alena Ethel Wilhide, September 5,1910.

Her birth name is Ethel Vena Wilhide, married name is Sprinkle.

Born September 5, 1910.

Died August 6, 1957.

I'm fairly new so take anything I say with a grain of salt, but the first thing I would do would be to message the profile manager of the profile in question. If that doesn't work, one of the more experienced members may be able to help.

Hi Anonymous!  Welcome to WikiTree.  I have tried searching WikiTree for your grandmother and I have not found her yet. 

If you have the URL address or the WikiTree ID for her, that may help.  A WikiTree ID looks like this: Draper-4171  (That is my ID)

1. You can change the information yourself if you become a member, and sign the Honor Code (it is free)

2. You can message the profile manager of of your grandmother and explain your research.

3.. If there is no profile manager for your grandmother, then message me from my profile page https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Draper-4171 

Click on [ send private message ]   

You will have to include your grandmothers profile ID number or a link to her profile page 

Someone else looking in may find her profile page, as I was not finding it, and respond in the comments below

It would be helpful to include Spouse and Children names, parents names if you can and their WikiTree IDs if possible.

her profile is private, so you'll need to contact the Profile Manager (use the [send private message] link next to her name on the profile).  As David notes, if you have other family members profiled on the site, it may be beneficial to become a full member and ask to be added to the trusted lists.  You can then do additions and corrections yourself.

Thanks Dennis for finding that!  She slipped by me!  That being said, this profile is in pretty bad shape!  The last name Sprinkle is not represented and no biography!  It's time to call the Bio Builders in on this one!

Laura Hansen (my 23rd cousin) and the profile manager has not been active since March of 2019, which might be a problem.   It might take some WikiTree staff to bust this profile open!

Yes, I got in a hurry and neglected to check Laura's contributions.  Anon very likely will get no response from the PM, and may have to go the Unresponsive Profile Manager route.

I hope you will succeed in getting this (and its older, connected profiles) into Open status.

It seems illogical for profiles of most people who died in the 1950s to be in Private status.
