I need help translating a Swedish phrase on a Finnish Profile.

Question

In the last Household Report before he disappears Hans Tiain's name has a line through and there is a comment ending in 1865.  I would like to be sure he died in 1865 and was not spirited away by aliens.  Would someone translate that phrase for me? Note Hans was born in 1806.

I'm not 100% sure. But I read it as: Försvann i början av oktober 1865. = Disappeared in early October 1865.

They appear to not know what has happened to him. Have you checked newspaper for the time?

Hmm, in what way did it not work? It works fine for me (do note that it is not a direct link to the right page scan, but to the 1857-1868 Household book directory). It is possible that the NARC website is geo-blocked, but I would be a bit surprised if it is.
