John George Feld I can't move forward with him, farthest I have is he was born in Holland and nothing further I can find.

He changed his name from Jan Geert Veld to John George Feld when he came to the United States.

He is my GG Grandfather.  Any help would be amazing.

Thanks

Hi Douglas,

Could it be you are searching for Jan Geert Veld, born on Aug 12, 1868 in Nieuwolda, province Groningen, Netherlands?

Here is a link to a record in openarch.nl - https://www.openarch.nl/gra:40f356b9-88c6-0c7f-1b8a-04a0cb6da424

Or with a bit of help from Sourcer -

Midwolda, Nederland.<ref>Birth: "BS Geboorte (Civil registration births)", AlleGroningers, Collection: Bron: boek, Record number: 83, Book: Geboorteregister 1868, [https://www.openarch.nl/gra:40f356b9-88c6-0c7f-1b8a-04a0cb6da424 OpenArch Record] (accessed 22 August 2023) [http://allegroningers.nl/zoeken-op-naam/deeds/40f356b9-88c6-0c7f-1b8a-04a0cb6da424 AlleGroningers Record], Jan Veld born on 12 Aug 1868, son of Geerd Jans Veld & Anna Roman, in Oostwold gem. Yes that is who I'm searching for.  Thank you for this.
Just on a side note this strikes close to home.  When I was in the U.S. Army, I was actually stationed about an hour away from Gronigen.  We used to go hang out there, if I only knew at the time.
Well Douglas it’s never too late to visit Groningen or the Netherlands.

Although people sometimes think we are too tolerant or too blunt, our country is beautiful, people are really nice and you don’t have to speak another language, because almost everybody speak multi languages, English is mandatory in school but (most speak even German or French) besides our own language Dutch.

If this is the case, this is his marriage and it registers his parents: https://www.allegroningers.nl/zoeken-op-naam/deeds/47853f16-0366-e2a7-6c70-0c5ed5bee77f

It would be the marriage of his parents. Looks good though.
