Sir Robert Honywood-51 had a number of children during the 1630s and 1640s, many born in Holland. The eldest was another Robert, who entered the Dutch service at some point before 1665. In that year, King Charles II, having decided to make war on Holland, recalled a number of his subjects in the Dutch service, among them Robert Honywood, who refused the summons and forfeited his estate in consequence.
Ludlow in his Memoirs has an account of this
https://archive.org/details/memoirsofedmundl02ludluoft/page/392/mode/2up in which he calls Honywood "Sir Robert Honywood Jr." but this is probably not correct.
Robert Honywood died by 1673, after which his royalist uncles petitioned to have his estate restored in a trust for the benefit of his widow and 2 sons.
I can find no more details on this Robert Honywood's career, and I'm hoping that some sources from Holland might have more information.
