Hi Wikitreers

A very fascinating Civil War mystery as we have a Charles H. Boynton who served in the U.S. Civil War 106th New York Co. F.

Their is possible conflation with him as the obit doesn’t seem to match yet it does. Shows the 11th New York Cavalry Co. M. mentioned but his findagrave memorial seems to match?

Need some collaboration to sort the correct man with the source

Thank you

Edit: under Roster remarks states “Absent” was age 17

The New York, U.S., Town Clerks' Registered of Men Who Served in the Civil War, ca. 1861-1865, lists him as the son of Frederick H. and Jane Boynton.

You have a Frederick, who was an officer in the 106th with a son C.H. Boynton.

Now my head is spinning because here is a biography that has Charles at 14 in the First U.S. Volunteer Cavalry.  The mustering in date and place and the mustering out place are right, though.
