WHy as profile manager can I not change the privacy level [closed]

i am profile manager and just want to change privacy to yellow setting and it will not let me

Because he was born 155 years ago.  "Profiles of people born over 150 years ago or who died over 100 years ago must be Open."

As Melanie mentioned, it's because this person was born over 150 years ago. Since WikiTree is a shared tree, we can't have our ancestors locked down from others' edits.

I'm curious why you want to change it. I see that another WikiTreer recently added some sources to that profile, and then that edit was reverted. I'm no expert on this family, but that edit didn't look like anything that would need to be reverted. Is there some controversy I'm missing here?

The edits that you reverted included several sources. If those sources are connected to the correct person, they should be included in the profile even if not all the facts are correct. (E.g. I still include census records for a person even if they get all the ages wrong.) Then notes can be made about those issues.

If those sources are about a different person altogether, then it's worth noting that there's another person who's easily confused with this one. Either way, reverting good-faith edits is not typically the ideal approach.
