We have a pending merge but I’d like some Wikitree collaboration as I’m hesitant to merge with Jacob Siver (abt. 1777). The children connected to each gentleman are not matching am I missing something or should merge continue.

Any input is appreciated

Thank you

Note: merges make me nervous and why Wikitree community should be consulted prior to any that are not clearly duplicates or any questionable reasons. So I’m asking the community laugh

The children are so different I would set it as an unmerged match. The children in the first profile were born much later and may have different parents - the father was 73 when the youngest was born, not unheard of but suspicious.

Edit, it's odd also that none of these younger children are listed in the census.
Thank you any help is appreciated thank you for collaborating

Further to my comment, I think the children of the 1st profile need to be sorted out first rather than untangling them later. They possibly belong to this 1850 census family:

: George H Siver    M    36        New York
: Eliza A Siver    F    37        New York
: Nancy Siver    F    12    Joiner    New York
: John H Siver    M    11        New York
: William Siver    M    8        New York
: James Siver    M    5    Joiner    New York
: Jeremiah Siver    M    0    Tailor    New York
: Cyrus Thomas Siver    M    26    Joiner    New York
: Aurilla Siver    F    15    Farmer    New York

I don't know where the occupations for the infants came from, they're not on the census!
It looks like they're the children of George on the second profile, and someone's missed out a generation.

Messy to say the least but it does appear your correct and this will take some work

See same person https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Siver-188 and https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Siver-61

See same person https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Siver-63 and https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Siver-183

Although not all children seem to have matches

I don't know, the US is not my area so I'll have to leave it to you or someone else. Some are obviously the same and can be merged though.

Note the 2 Family Search profiles that use the same 1850 census.  https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/sources/LTB9-S3Q and https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/sources/M591-5R4.  I added the Schenectady baptism record to Siver-179.

Oops! They are different places.  Is the Minden, Montgomery County Seeber the one baptized in Schenectady or is it the Edwards, St. Lawrence County Siver?  See the heirs of Martin Siver late of Herkimer County.

"New York Probate Records, 1629-1971," images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-L9HY-B9SN-8?cc=1920234&wc=Q7R1-4WL%3A213304301%2C214738901 : 28 May 2014), Herkimer > Estate papers 1815-1834 S, no 6618-6682 > image 291 of 1183; county courthouses, New York.

That puts Jacob, son of Martin in Martinsburg, Lewis County in 1841.

Edited to correct date of Jacob's location in Martinsburg.

For the children baptized at Minden Lutheran, there is a computer printout at:

Lutheran Saint Pauls Church, Minden Township, Montgomery, New York computer printout; births or christenings, 1793-1845, Family Search Film # 007766061, Image 1183 of 2157, https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSM4-WJWH?i=1182&cat=10597

There may be more info in the transcriptions at:

St. Lawrence County Siver the civil war 106th New York was George’s sons Regt

Edit. Typos

I've done some work on Martinus.  See his profile: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sybel-4 .
