35th Company? What does it refer to?

I have a Kent newspaper article in 1862 which refers to a private Edmund Dye of the 35th Company.

Would it refer to this Sussex regiment or something else?  https://www.nam.ac.uk/explore/35th-royal-sussex-regiment-foot

I am looking to see if it is Edmund Dye b1844 Kent England.  Dye-3875

I have been unable to find any military records for Edmund Dye.  There is an Edmund Day in Chelsea Pensioners but he is born 1859 so I don't think it is the same person.

Any help appreciated.
