Hi, I am hoping for some help on the "Baldwin" side of my tree.  I know that I am the GGG grandson of Betsy Baldwin (born approx. 1805) who lived at the end of her life in Hillsboro, Wisconsin, who prior to that lived in Susquehanna, PA and who was born in CT.

I am trying to solve the puzzle another generation back but there seem to be two incorrect theories on ancertry.com.

One shows that she is the daughter of Gabriel Baldwin and Sarah Summers of CT.  Although the age and place seem correct, and they do have a daughter named Betsy, my research shows that this Betsy married a sea captain and lived out her life in CT.  I see no evidence that she moved to Susquehanna, PA.

The second one stems from me digging into my DNA matches.  I have stumbled upon numerous DNA matches that lead me to Uriah Baldwin of Wayne County, PA, which borders Susquehanna, PA, who seems to have been born in NY in 1812.  I am a DNA match of 14 people who can substantiate their lineage back to him.  So I assume he is either the brother or cousin of Betsy.  There is also evidence that Uriah is the son of William Baldwin, born in CT about 1771.  William was living with Uriah in 1850 in Wayne County, PA.  I assume therefore that William is either the father or uncle of Betsy.  Many trees on ancestry show that this is the William Baldwin that lived in Tompkins County, NY and who was married to Elizabeth Quackenbush.  This however does not feel right to me.  The evidence I can find of William Baldwin and Elizabeth Quackenbush shows them having numerous children but none of whom were named Uriah or Betsy.

This has led me to wondering about a different William Baldwin of CT I found.  However other than he existed I cannot find more on him other that that he was born about 1770 in CT and married Lois Johnson in CT in 1793.  I have yet to be able to find anything more on them and am looking for help.

If you can help me solve this puzzle, I would be greatly appreciative.

Sincerely,

Scott
