History of NSW Miners, specific names

I have a family surname of FREW. Many of them were miners in the Wollongong / Illawarra Region of NSW, Australia immigrating from Ireland and Scotland. 1856 - 1900

Has anyone come across a site where  I can find details of specific miners in that time.

Elavine, there is one site on line that gives some early history   on the coal mines in the area of NSW where your Frew family emigrated from Dallmelington Ayr.  There is a contact provided and possibly they may have information that can help in your search.   There is no doubt that the male individuals in the Ayrshire area of Scotland were for the better part all coal miners.
