Help us find and improve next week's Connection Finder profiles: Business Magnates [closed]

Mark Cuban is our most recent WikiTree Challenge guest star, so we're lookin at business magnates in the Connection Finder next week.

Here's who we're getting started on:

John D. Rockefeller

Andrew Carnegie

Sakichi Toyoda

Can you help with these profiles, or expand their families? Adding relatives in any direction helps with connections. Every missing relative you add will make our connections to them closer.

Who else should we feature? We can't feature everyone who is nominated (we only have room for eleven per week), but if we don't feature a profile you work on, we may use it sometime in the future. And, of course, all contributions help improve our shared tree.

We'll make a final decision on which ones to feature early next week.

Please reply here with what you're working on so that we don't duplicate our efforts. Thank you!

Take note that this is not the place to discuss why you think we shouldn't feature someone if those reasons are due to politics, actions, or opinions of those being suggested.  Mentioning things like their not being connected, their biography still needing work, erroneous information, etc. are all suitable for discussion here and an opportunity to correct those situations.

Help us plan Connection Finder themes for 2023 here.

Franklin Mars - Mars Candy

Kōnosuke Matsushita - Panasonic/Electronics - known as “The God of Management”

James McDonnell, Jr. - McDonnell Douglass/Aerospace

My favorite, however, is Mother Joseph Pariseau - a Canadian nun who was an incredible business tycoon – designing and building schools and a healthcare system in the Pacific Northwest.

No women are among the magnates mentioned in the question. Here's a helpful list. Possibilities include:

by Jim Richardson G2G Astronaut (1.0m points)

Coco Chanel https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Chanel-1

Did not find a profile for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Arden

Elizabeth Macarthur - founder of the Australian merino wool industry (usually overshadowed by her notorious husband) https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Veale-305

Estée Lauder - not Connected https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Mentzer-205

Margaret Loreta Rudkin - founder of Pepperidge Farm and first female member of the board at the Campbell Soup Company - bio needs to say WHY she is notable (and should at least mention her starting Pepperidge Farm) https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Fogarty-1317

How could I have forgotten Madam C.J. Walker? It took long enough for her profile to get connected!

Jim, Thanks for nominating Katherine (Meyer) Graham.  I have updated and expanded her profile.  She was the first female CEO of a Fortune 500 company and one of the world's most powerful women as owner and publisher of the Washington Post.

Thanks Russell: great work on the biography!
Thanks, everyone.

I'm building the biography of Maria Zanders, who had to take over a paper fabrication company in 1870, after her husband died unexpectedly. This company was working until last year. One of her close relatives (father of a daughter-in-law) is Werner von Siemens, the founder of the electrical company Siemens.

Edit: I changed the year Maria took over the company, in 1831 it was her mother-in-law.

Maria's bio is done, the one of Siemens still has to be done.
Werner von Siemens is now also done.
Thank you, Jelena.
