Civil War Project Gen. Morgan H Chrysler's parents?

Question

I could use some help with the profile of Morgan Henry Chrysler.  I found names for his parents at Civil War Talk.

Father Johannes Chrysler 1798-1823

Mother Frances Prentiss

Could someone check on Ancestry or Fold3 to see if there is any more information about his parents or his grandparents.

Research Notes:
The 1875 New York Census shows a Fanny Groat included in his household. She is listed as mother. Morgan Chrysler's wife was Amelia Groat. But her mother was Corstina (Link0 Groat.  

On Family Search, I find a Fanny Groat also married to Hendrick Groat (Amelia's father).

Could Morgan Chrysler's mother Frances married his father-in-law?

I think "Fanny" is a nickname for Corstina Link, and that she is the mother-in-law of Morgan Chrysler.  The other thing to check is if Hendrick Groat married twice, Fanny might be a second wife, step-mother of Amelia.

Family Search does show another wife for Hendrick Groat. It lists a Fanny Groat, but without information.

Fannie is a common nickname for Frances.  His mother was named Frances.  That is why I wondered if his mother was the second wife of his father-in-law.  

I am having trouble finding solid information on Morgan Chrysler's parents.

Now that I'm looking at that, perhaps that is exactly what happened.  Interesting.

My gut says that is what happened.  Her husband died in 1823. His wife died in 1830.  Same community.  

Also, the grave marker for General Morgan Chrysler has space for two others: his wife and his mother.  His mother is not named, but died in 1876.  1870 is the last census with Fannie Groat living with him.  

Also, Henry Groat, Fannie's husband, is buried along with their son, John Henry.  But Fannie is not buried there.  

I'm guessing, but I really think his mother married his father-in-law.
