I'm looking for some extra eyes to help me get a fresh perspective on a bit of a brick wall I've hit when it comes to one John Henry Charles Kearney, born 10 November 1903.
I have a lot of anecdotal information from surviving family members, but no sources that I can find to corroborate it.
Surviving family claim that John is the son of Samuel Richard Kearney, and based on the John's birthdate that would indicate that his mother is Sarah Jane Thompson who Samuel married on 5 January 1903.
The only record I can track down for a child of Samuel Richard Kearney and Sarah Jane Thompson is a baptism certificate for Joseph Benjamin Kearney, born 7 February 1915 in Elliot.
JB Kearney has a child named Stephen HENRY CHARLES Kearney, hinting at a potential family connection.
John Henry Charles Kearney married Johanna Emily Fischer in Xalanga, which is where Samuel Richard Kearney's brother Michael William Kearney was married, though Michael William's probate rules out him being JHC's father.
Family also states that Anna Jacomina Elizabeth Jordaan is John Henry Charles Kearney's sister. She was born Circa 1919. (Kearney-2617)
On Anna's marriage certificate there is a W.D Kearney listed as a witness, hinting at yet another unknown relative.
