Is this the right George Hopkins (my 3rd GGF)?

I know my 3rd GGF was a soldier called George Hopkins who married a Jane Swift born in Ireland around 1800, and had a daughter named Sarah born ~1824-1826 either in Ireland or Jamaica. I also know he must have died before 1828 when his wife Jane remarried (to another soldier).

But is this man born in 1786, who died in Jamaica in 1824, the right man?https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:939F-VN94-M4?i=87&cc=1827268+image+414%2F560

How can I find out the batallion of this George Hopkins stationed in Jamaica? That might help me find more about him, where he was born, when he married Jane Swift, when and where Sarah was born.

I have a birth certificate for a Sarah Hopkins born 1824 in Ireland to a George Hopkins in the 2nd Batallion of the Rifle Brigade, but the mother is listed as Anna, not Jane, and there is no maiden name, so it doesn't look like it's my 3d GGM Sarah.

Do you have any suggestions?

Hopkins-18592, Swift-5660, Hopkins-18469
