I am at my brick wall on Smith-69986. Need help!!

Alexander was born about 1805 in Canada. He married Nancy White who was born in New York abt 1815. Her parents were from Germany.

They lived in York Twp, Ontario, outside Toronto, Canada in 1851. They had a very large family.

They  lived in Niagara County, NY in 1860

They lived in Leelanau, Michigan in 1870.

Our DNA indicates we may have African ancestors through this line.

Welcome to the Black Hole of Upper Canada. Researching in this time frame can be challenging! Have you found a death registration for Alexander? That may have the name of his parents.
Look for other Smith families in the 1851 census of Canada West in the same area. Also with the US census records for NY and MI. Are there any other Smith families that could be his parents or siblings?
Research Upper Canada Land Petitions on Library and Archives Canada. Also township and land records on FamilySearch.

You may need to research all of the children, and Alexander's siblings to find the identity of his parents.

He died in Michigan about 1875. No death record. I have census records for 1851, 1860 and 1870. I have tried finding his kids, but several are unaccounted for. But will try looking for Smiths who lived in the York twp area. Thanks
